The Travertine Noce stone is mostly extracted in the province of Denizli. The city was formerly known as Denizli Ladik, meaning "Laodicaea on the sea/lake", but the town is not on the coast. The name developed through several spellings and may have referred to the abundance of underground water sources or the city's location on the way to western Turkey's lakes region nearby.

The area has been occupied since prehistoric times, there were important ancient Greek and Roman towns nearby, which persisted through the Byzantine period.

Overall analysis

The Travertine Noce is a type of stone with a great reputation and market. This is mainly due to few factors that we present below:
- appearance: it has a great appearance, being cut in favour or agains the veinage. It presents a beautiful beige colour that makes the wonders of architects.
- continuity: this is a stone for the future, with large reserves and quantities available at present.
- versatility: the Travertine Noce is a very versatile stone, being used pretty much everywhere. It also accepts well most types of finishings, which is why we call it a combat stone.

On the other hand, it is important to say that the Travertine Noce may present some problems, specially in terms of selection. There are quite some variations and types of Travertines that one can easily be mistaken by buying a similar stone to the Travertine Noce. Selection and knowledge of the stone are key!
